Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Ok the film was an amazing experience for me to watch in recent times. The first was Spiderman No Way Home. But that's for another time to review. This is also the second film I've seen from this year. We start off with Dr Strange being normal and not living up to his namesake. That is fine. Of course, there is some demonic trouble, and that was an awesome sight to see. He was well written as a character, and same with his sidekick if you will America Charvez. The whole thing about jumping multiple universes I'd expected it to be full of madness and strangeness. If it wasn't strange, then the film wouldn't have been worth of my time. That's like saying Spiderman didn't do web slinging in his most recent film, but thankfully both films I enjoyed a lot.
I'm not 100% into the genre in general in which I cannot explain as of why that is personally, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't review them. Ok, back to the actual film and not going into a tangent. I find it nice they decided to use Peggy Carter as Captain Britain (yeah ok slight spoiler there on that one), using some of the familiar characters like Reid Richards and some other obscure characters in general. Elizabeth Olsen played Scarlet Witch in a convincing way, that she made that particular one evil, and not an anti-villain unlike Deadpool. Xochitl Gomez did a stellar job at being America Chavez, because at least it gives the actual character a lot of a fairer chance of being made as an actual character without her feeling like an awful character. In which I'm grateful that she isn't. Now for the whole evil double of Dr Strange, I'd enjoyed because it showed what would have happened if he used Darkhold to try and stop his universe from collapsing. It ended up corrupting that particular version of Dr Strange. I tend to love how in films, if more than one character is played by the same person, they place an awful lot of effort to make sure both characters are shown in a scene, even if it's not at the same time. The duel in question is a good example of Benedict Cumberbatch fighting against his evil double, and how it's done right. Although the best example of this just so happened to be from the film called Legend.
Would I buy this on DVD, Blu Ray or a download off of the web when it's released after being shown in cinemas? Yes, I sure would spend roughly £12 on a film like this as since it's a decent film for escapism and it is worth every penny. It was also a decent £14 at the cinema in regard to watching the film.
